Students share their spectacular summer concert experience

“Our first surprise song, ‘Our Song,’ was the first Taylor Swift song I had ever heard, and I’ve had the lyrics memorized since I was 6 years old, so it was incredible to hear live. Strangers at the concert were speaking as if they had known each other for years and to watch someone so incredibly talented do what they love for three hours and being a part of that was so special.”

“It felt unreal that I got to see BLACKPINK perform live and physically stand in the stadium to show them my love along with other fans. I teared up during one of their encore songs, ‘Stay.’ That song made me fall in love with BLACKPINK and their music a few years ago, so it was an unforgettable experience that I got to listen to it.”

“The most memorable part of the concert was when Drake came out of the tunnel for his concert entrance and performed his song ‘Look What You’ve Done’ with a hologram of his old self. I’ve been listening to him since I was a kid and he’s my favorite artist so it was definitely very special.”

“It was exciting to see surprise guests that Don Toliver brought out like Travis Scott, Nav and Kali Uchis because none of us expected it and we got to see them perform together. When he brought out Kali Uchis and they danced together while he sang, it brought all of the audience together for a really sweet moment with a wonderful song.”

—Akhila Dhurjati (11)
