The California Citizens Redistricting Commission r

The California Citizens Redistricting Commission released maps of new California Congress, state Senate and Assembly districts, reflecting federally mandated adjustments resulting from the 2020 census. Finalized by the CA Secretary of State on Dec. 27, 2021, these maps will stand for the next decade, dividing Irvine (which is currently cohesively in the 45th Congressional district) into North and South segments.

For some, the word “fencing” conjures up nothi

For some, the word “fencing” conjures up nothing more than vague memories of Inigo Montoya and his excessively violent greetings. But for freshman Aaryan Patil, it means electric gear and late-night practices. It means running “suicide” drills until you feel like you might actually die. And, more recently, it means becoming one of the nation’s top eight fencers in his age group at the October North American Cup.

A bright smile, a light in the life of so many and

A bright smile, a light in the life of so many and a brave individual who never stopped living life to the fullest, doing his best to make the world a better place. On Nov. 18, 16-year old Amir Alchabaoun was finally able to rest after a two-year struggle with a relentless brain tumor. He had been in and out of the hospital, yet despite these circumstances, he never failed to maintain an optimistic perspective.
