Club Rush took place from Oct. 7-9, with 126 participating clubs for students to explore.
Club Rush, an annual event at the start of each school year, allows clubs to promote themselves to students through booths at the Fine Arts Patio. Several clubs set up decorations, food and games for students to enjoy and learn about what the club offers.
“Club Rush is one of the most helpful events,” sophomore Emaan Azimi said. “As an underclassman, it helps not only get involved in school activities but also meet new people, be social and find the right communities at Northwood.”
The club commissioners implemented stationed ASB members throughout the Fine Arts Patio to guide students through club booths, while maintaining strict set-up and clean-up guidelines for all clubs.
Clubs will also be expected to follow new guidelines this year: attendance at each club meeting will be tracked on 5-Star. Any club that has less than 15 members will be dissolved.
“The biggest thing when you have over 125 clubs on campus, is whether clubs are having the active 15 members every meeting, and 5-Star sign-in makes this much easier,” club commissioner senior Ines Khodja said. “We also want to see sponsored clubs really give back to the community, and require six service hours per sponsored club to help out with school events.”
All Northwood clubs can be found under “Activities” on the 5-Star App, along with meeting dates and times. Club presidents are encouraged to direct any unanswered questions on BAND, and new club applications will reopen in the spring semester
