Seniors triumphant in Clash of the Classes
The senior class emerged victorious over the other grade levels during the 3rd annual Clash of the Classes from Feb. 6-10, winning the title of the most “spirited” class for the second time.
“It was amazing to win Clash of the Classes, as I’m sure any other class president would say,” senior class president Ryan Nhu said. “But I think winning this year, as seniors, was really special because it was such a tight competition with the juniors, and it was really just a great event to bring our class together, all competition aside. I’m so glad that my class was able to win Clash of the Classes a second time and I’m sure this’ll be a clear and exciting memory for seniors in the future, myself included.”
The entire competition featured four different events throughout the week: Monday and Tuesday for Dodgeball, Wednesday for Trivia, Thursday for the Talent Show and Friday for a final relay. Like the previous years, each day of the week also tested the spirit of the classes with various dress-up themes that contributed to the overall scores for every class. Sophomore Manav Manivannan expressed how he felt that Trivia Day was the most exciting day of the competition for him.
“Trivia Day was definitely the best day because it’s so much fun to see which questions you know the answers to and everyone seems to have the most energy that day, as each class goes crazy when their team gets a question,” sophomore Manav Manivannan said. “In fact, I cheered so loud that I lost my voice.”
Although the other classes didn’t win, it was still a friendly and tight competition with the juniors coming to a close 2nd against the seniors. Junior Christine Lin noted her feelings of pride in the Class of 2018’s efforts and her excitement for next year.
“I think that the junior class did an amazing job this year and put a really good effort into it in terms of dressing up and participation, so I can’t wait for next year,” Lin said.
