Pride of the pack recognized
Northwood students were recognized in front of their peers and parents for being role models at Northwood during the Pride of the Pack Award Ceremony last Thursday.
The award ceremony was held at the gym, and all students attended the ceremony to recognize their peers. Each teacher nominated two students based on their demonstration of Northwood’s core values: integrity, mutual respect and compassion.
Northwood also invited the motivational speaker Rick Minniefield to help the students recognize their true passions. He discussed his life story and spoke of situations in which people, including himself, were inspired to pursue something.
“I think his message was inspirational and it motivated me to be a better person,” freshman William Pandes said. “I feel grateful that I can go to Northwood with so many opportunities to choose from.”
The Pride of the Pack ceremony, hosted by ASB, was led by academic commissioners seniors Natalie Leifer and Taylor Carpenter, who helped with notifying the nominees.
“It is so important to recognize these students, because they represent the outstanding character we value most at Northwood,” Leifer said. “ By embodying the core values, they bring intrinsic passion and positivity to the classroom environment.”
