Every new year comes with new hopes and aspirations for students across Northwood. With the first semester finally coming to an end, students are looking forward to the fresh start of the second semester. Whether it be academics, sports or simply one’s interests and hobbies, 2019 will be an unforgettable year.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to a routine and creating new values in the new year,” junior William Hu said. “Winter Break was a nice breather from first semester, and I think I’m getting more accustomed to the pace of junior year.”
Others hope to get a jump-start on studying for their SATs and make new friends.
“I am looking forward to meeting new people that I will make many memories with and improving my grades,” sophomore Alice Park said. “ Even though I have to start prepping for the SAT and AP classes, I am very excited!”
Other students are looking forward to what they can enjoy at home when it comes to music, movies, and tv shows.
“I’m looking forward to the release of several anticipated movies this year,” freshman Ritwik Kumar said. “Some of which are Toy Story 4 and Avengers: Endgame.”
Although the juniors and underclassmen hope to pave their way through second semester, the seniors hope to make the most of their last semester at Northwood.
“Now that I am a second semester senior, I will have more time to not only relax and enjoy my last few months of high school, but also work on personal development that I have been putting off due to all of my extra commitments,” senior Vinayaka Srinivas said. “I am excited to go to college and start a new chapter of my life, but I will definitely miss Northwood and all the memories I have made here.”
