Fall Fashion Trends
Though it may not seem like it, fall has begun! The arrival of fall brings in cooler temperatures, the holiday season and most importantly – both new and old fashion trends.
For girls, there has already been a consistent set of rising trends since mid-October:
1. Baseball tees
These tees come in a variety of different colors and are a good choice for those California days with cool mornings and hot afternoons.
2. Burgundy-colored everything
Everywhere I go, this color seems to be the most popular in fall fashion. It’s a perfect warm color for the fall, and it plays off well with the colors of the holidays. This color looks best on cardigans, sweaters and T-shirts.
3. Ankle boots
Ankle boots, usually referred to as “booties,” are very popular these days. The best thing about these is that they come in nearly every style – from flat to heeled and studded to suede – and look great with everything including jeans, shorts, dresses and skirts.
4. Maxi dresses
Maxi dresses are the perfect choice for the type of weather we have in the fall in Southern California. This summertime fashion can be carried into the fall season with a simple change in color choice: choose a dark red or black dress to fit with the season. For cooler days, pair the dress with a signature Brandy Melville oversized cardigan!
For guys, fall fashion tends to remain pretty consistent with the recent years:
1. Flannels and plaid shirts
Flannels and plaid shirts are simple yet stylish. They add a little bit of color to your outfit and, because they are most often found in deep red, accommodate the holiday season perfectly.
2. Varsity jackets
Varsity jackets have been a trend and a fall fashion go-to item for years because of the variety of colors and styles they are available in. Whether you wear your own Northwood varsity jacket or one from a store, these jackets are a great choice to help keep you both warm and in style during the fall months.
With these tips and trends, you’re sure to be in style while staying warm and comfy for the following fall months.
