Each year, the City of Mission Viejo hosts their Holiday Home Lighting Contest, which encourages homeowners to decorate their homes with the most festive holiday lights. In previous years, houses were adorned with armies of inflatable Santas, light-up reindeers and synchronized lights dancing to your favorite classic Christmas tracks. One house was even decorated with all the adorable Whoville characters! This year, Mission Viejo will continue spreading holiday cheer, so take a majestic cruise along the hills of Mission Viejo this season. It will definitely get you into the holiday spirit.
Knott’s Merry Farm
There has been Knott’s Berry Farm, Knott’s Scary Farm, but it’s finally Knott’s Merry Farm season! During the holiday season, the park transforms into a winter wonderland topped with a magnificent Christmas tree. In addition to roller-coasters, you can enjoy Christmas crafting, festive foods, live entertainment and nightly snow in Ghost Town.
Brea Christmas Lights Neighborhood
Though Orange County does not have snow, the Brea homeowners of Birch, Starflower, Lambert and Primrose Streets are experts in creating their own winter wonderland with help from thousands of lights. With over 100 homes decked in holiday lights, the neighborhood is a popular attraction, so traffic can get hectic sometimes. But, you’ll have the opportunity to find free hot chocolate, candy canes and cookies at some houses, so the trip will definitely be worth it!
