Cool summer drink places
As the countdown to the last day of school is nearing an end, the weather is getting hotter and hotter in light of the arriving summer. During these especially scorching days, Northwood kids need to cool off. Here are just a few options for those of you looking to beat the heat this summer:
Cha for Tea has always attracted high school and college students alike, due to its aesthetic ambience and delicious milk tea. Located in UCI, this popular boba spot features several drink options, its most popular choices being the Mango Green Tea and Almond Black Milk Tea. Out of the several boba places in Irvine, Cha has some of the best, perfectly sweet, round and squishy boba. If you find yourself in UCI this summer, be sure to stop by this cute tea bar for some good food and great boba.
7 Leaves Cafe has become a popular beverage spot for Northwood students. Although the shop is small and lacks the variety of other beverage places like Cha for Tea, every one of their drinks is crafted with detail and care. Following more traditional flavors, like Taro and Mung Bean, 7 Leaves gives people a chance to try less conventional flavors. However, their Vietnamese coffee is a must-try, containing the perfect balance between bitter coffee and sweet condensed milk.
Snow Monster is another beverage spot in Irvine, and it definitely provides some stiff competition for Cha. Snow Monster’s appeal comes from the uniqueness of its drinks. Snow Monster features special “cloud” drinks, which are milk tea and boba drinks topped with freshly-spun cotton candy. Aside from being able to choose from jasmine, honey and almond milk tea, customers can also choose to put fruity pebbles on their cotton candy to make a “rainbow cloud,” or even tajin, if they feel adventurous enough to try a “fire cloud.” If you’re not in the mood for milk tea, Snow Monster also has delicious shaved snow and gelato to cool you down.
Tebo Tebo offers a variety of fruit teas, milk teas and slushes. Unlike boba places like Lollicup that simply serve fruit teas on their own, this Vietnamese-influenced tea lounge serves fruit tea concoctions with pieces of fruit inside the drinks, which are served in cute plastic bottles. If you are interested in trying their tangy “Pom Pom Peach,” or their tarty green apple “T.G.I.F,” come with some friends to try their refreshing fruity drinks.
